Prostitution investigation in Hurst

Two women in Hurst have been arrested as part of an an ongoing police investigation into a network of money laundering and prostitution.

A 40-year-old and 61-year-old were faced with officers yesterday (Tuesday, January 8) at an address in Davis Way on suspicion of conspiracy to control prostitution for gain, and were taken into police custody.

During the same operation by the Thames Valley Police Organised Crime Group, supported by the Reading force, seven warrants in four districts were carried out.

As a result, asset restraint orders to the value of £1.5million have been obtained.

Det Supt David Poole, overseeing the operation, said: “Thames Valley Police, in partnership with other police forces, have taken action against an organised network of criminals generating considerable criminal assets. If you are involved in criminality we will arrest you and seize you assets. The message is crime does not pay.”
