Magpies lose out to Wycombe

Maidenhead United lost 1-0 to Wycombe Wanderers last night in their first pre-season friendly.

A classy run and finish from young winger Matty Phillips in the 79th minute was the difference between the sides in front of 481 fans at York Road.

The Magpies showed plenty of determination and effort as they restricted the League Two visitors to just a handful of chances in the first half.

Johnson Hippolyte's side came closest to scoring when Richard Paxquette attempted a lob over keeper Scott Shearer but saw it float just wide, but they could not find the back of the net and lost 1-0.
