WATCH: Film warns teens about the dangers of boozing

11:44am Wed 16th Jul 08:: written by Laura Enfield

A night of teenage boozing has been created for the small screen by a Maidenhead student as a warning to his peers.

Marcus Eldridge's video, Smells Like Teen Spirit, follows a young girl on a fictional night out and will soon be winging its way across the Royal Borough. Thanks to a twist of fate,  A-level pupil was commissioned to make the film to be used professionally by the council's drug and alcohol team.

It ends with a hooded man approaching the girl, with no indication whether he intends to help or prey on her.

The aim is to get people thinking and at the end of each scene there are questions intended to prompt discussion.

It will be launched on Monday and copies will be sent out with a letter from the police to the parents of under 18s who have been caught drinking in a public place. It will also be used by the police schools officers at alcohol awareness sessions in local schools.
