Here are this week's top tips for the weekend's horseracing from our resident expert, Benny The Book....

The big event at Ascot today is the Summer Mile (2.55pm) which sees last year's winner Cesare up against Ramonti who landed the Queen Anne, Sussex and Queen Ekizabeth Stakes last season.

Of the two the ground will probably favour Cesare while Ramonti's return to action was delayed this spring by an infection. Of the two Cesare is the selection, the seven-year-old was desperately unlucky here last month when his path was blocked in the final furlong.

One to watch in the final race at Ascot (5.45) is What Do You Know, and old favourite of ours, who won well in the spring on soft ground, although a hike in the weights could tell.

Ignoring Chester, where I couldn't pick a winner to save my life (horrible tight track), York stages the renewal of the John Smith's Cup (3.15pm) where Charlie Tokyo was a shock winner last year. Since then the horse has done nothing, and looks unlikely to retain his crown.

Mick Channon runs three, Championship Point, Capable Guest and Halicarnassus and the last could reward each way support while Mutajarred looks a likely winner.
