Wacky races at Kaffirs Boxing Day challenge

12:00am Fri 28th Dec 07:: written by Fran Pemberton

Space hopping and satsuma eating contestants fought it out to be crowned the champions of the annual Boxing Day games run by charity fundraisers the Kaffirs of Cookham Dean.

All of the 13 teams competing in the series of wacky challenges at the old cricket ground in Church Road, were made up of representatives from pubs, clubs, and residents from the Cookham area.
Last year's winners, the Dynamo 5 Elms, were crowned joint first champions along with rivals Fashionably Late.

Organiser and umpire, Peter Austen said: "It's always a fantastic occasion and everyone puts in a lot of effort."

The event raised about £500 which the Kaffirs will donate to people in need of help around the area, such as local youth groups.
