Strike sensation Dowdican staying at The Gore

3:57pm Wed 4th Jun 08:: written by Steve Spencer

Promising young striker Jordan Dowdican has committed his future to Burnham Football Club after completing a six-week trial at Championship club Norwich City.

The teenage forward, who made a handful of appearances in Southern League Division South & West for the Blues first team last season, signed a contract at The Gore last week which will tie him to Dave Mudge's side for foreseeable future.

Mudge had earlier believed that Dowdican would be signed by Norwich when he first went on trial, but that now appears not to be the case.

It is a big boost for the club as Mudge builds a team capable of promotion next season.
