8:00am Sat 31st May 08:: written by Graeme Copas

The Berkshire CCC players have chosen the numbers they will wear in their inaugural Twenty20 clash with Middlesex on Tuesday.

Maidenhead boy Paul Carter has modestly chosen the number one, while skipper Bjorn Mordt will wear 69 and team professional Richard Johnson will have 13 on his back.

The match, which takes place at Finchampstead CC starting at 5pm, precedes the first-class county Twenty20 competition and will be used by Middlesex – who are expected to incude Owais Shah and spinner Murali Kartik in their line-up – as a warm up for that.

Former Berkshire development officer Toby Radford is now Middlesex’s coach.

Entry costs £10 for adults.

Berkshire squad: David Barnes (15); Jon Trower (9); Jono McLean (67); Bjorn Mordt (69) capt.; Steve Naylor (17); Paul Carter (1); James Morris (7); Richard Johnson (13); Tom Lambert (24); Carl Crowe (5); Craig Crowe (8); Tim Dellor (41) 12th man.
