Final call for Jewel FM DJs

Friday is the last chance to apply to be a volunteer presenter on Maidenhead's own radio station.
Jewel FM is coming back to the airwaves in May and the Advertiser-run station needs volunteers to present their own shows, organise guests and learn how to use the equipment.
The station, which is being sponsored by the Maidenhead Advertiser (Louis Baylis) Charitable Trust, will be broadcasting for the town's carnival from Thursday, May 22 to Wednesday, June 11 and will be run by professional station manager David Garwood.
Jewel FM will be broadcasting music, local news, weather and travel and also interviews and information about the festivities.
Key characteristics needed for the role are personality and a strong voice, according to Mr Garwood.
“I’m hoping we will get a good response and if anyone is thinking about moving on in radio this might lead on to something – maybe even a full-time professional position,” he said.
No experience is necessary and to apply all you have to do is compose a five-minute CD or mpeg file showcasing your ability.
Showreels can be either emailed to louisam@maidenads.co.uk or dropped in to the Maidenhead Advertiser, Newspaper House, 48, Bell Street, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 1HX, marked Jewel FM Showreel.
The closing date for showreels is tomorrow – Friday, April 18.
If you would like to advertise on Jewel FM please contact Eddie Pearce at the Maidenhead Advertiser on 01628 678200 for more information.
