Music and food are perfect match

2:51pm Thu 10th Apr 08

Forenza Italian Restaurant in Bridge Street, Maidenhead, is a family-run establishment offering a personal and quality service.

It is a bright 100-seater venue with a stunning granite-topped bar and striking red sofas where diners can enjoy a pre-dinner drink.

Forenza offers a comprehensive a la carte menu, a set lunch menu available daily and an extensive wine list featuring more than 100 wines from all over the world (from £12.95 a bottle).

It stocks a grand selection of liqueurs from Hennessey Paradis to a range of fine grappas.

Customers are always guaranteed a warm Italian welcome by proprietor Salvatore and manager Michael Iasi.

Complimentary olives and nibbles are available at the bar and homemade focaccia bread with mixed olives are complimentary at the table while guests select from the menus.

The a la carte has something for everyone, from pasta such as pennette alla caprese to meat dishes like fillet served with rosemary, Martini rosso and veal jus on a bed of portobello mushrooms and spinach. The set lunch menu offers two courses for £12.95 – a starter and a main course or a main followed by dessert. A three-course set lunch is £15.95 and customers can choose a starter, main course and dessert or, for a real Italian dining experience, select a starter then a pasta dish followed by a main course. Lunchtime dishes include homemade fish cakes served with sweet chilli and ginger dip, traditional homemade lasagne and rump of lamb.

Daily specials include a selection of fresh fish and meat dishes which change according to the season and availability. Coupled with pastas and risottos of the day and homemade desserts, there is something to suit all tastes.

Forenza is available for private hire for functions such as birthdays, anniversaries and wedding receptions.

It can also be booked exclusively and menus can be created to suit all tastes and budgets.

Regular special events have included jazz nights, wine tastings and a sell-out Frank Sinatra tribute night.

A jazz evening will take place on Wednesday, April 30, when a live trio will play background music from 7-10pm. Tickets are available at £5 per person which will guarantee a table for the evening. Advance booking is recommended.
