Businesses urged to help with parking

5:30pm Wed 9th Apr 08:: written by Claire Moulson

Businesses in Windsor are being urged to lend their land for parkers.

The Royal Borough is aiming to increase parking space in the town and is calling for organisations with available evening and weekend parking bays to make them available to shoppers and visitor outside office hours.

Cllr Colin Rayne, cabinet member for highways, transport and environment, said: "This could be a mutually beneficial arrangement with visitors to the town centre having a wider range of parking options and businesses getting involved in helping the community as well as benefiting from an otherwise unused asset."

The council says it is already in talks to involve the King Edward VII Hospital into the scheme.

Anyone who is interested in getting involved with the proposals should contact town centre manager Paul Roach on 01753 743921.
