Search for Desborough school song

It is not uncommon for people who have had near-death experiences to realise what is most important to them.
And for pensioner David Perrem, who had to be resuscitated in hospital three times last year, it gave him a revitalised take on life and on all of the things that he holds dear.

Now Mr Perrem, a former Maidenhead Grammar School pupil (now Desborough School) is on a quest to restore a vital part of his past and to track down a copy of the old school song.

Mr Perrem, 63, believes that the song, which was written in Latin, was composed by former music teacher Frank Hammersley, and extolled the virtues of a fit and active life.

"I would truly love to rehash the old school song. It meant so much to us," said the Shirley Road resident.
"We used to sing it at assemblies and at every speech day; it was a part of our lives as we were growing up."
