Windsor Arts Centre take-over bids

12:05pm Mon 31st Mar 08:: written by Claire Moulson

Bids to take over the management of Windsor Arts Centre have been put forward by four organisations.

The St Leonard's Road venue closed its doors in December after plunging into administration.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead had invited bids from groups to carry forward community arts in the area.

The borough will now consider the proposals submitted by Windsor Arts are Yours (WAY), Fire Station Arts and Culture, Windsor Arts Centre Management Group and Everyday Theatre.

Cllr Jesse Grey, cabinet member for leisure and culture, said: "We are pleased to have received four interesting and exciting proposals which we - together with colleagues from Arts Council England South East - are evaluating against each other and the council's requirements."

The shortlisted organisations will now be expected to make presentations to outline their ideas, and a decision is due to be made at the end of April.
