Thirteen arrests in crime crackdown

The 'day of action' on Thursday last week was to help drive performance and reduce crime across the local police area covering Windsor and Maidenhead.
Officers were given an early morning briefing by acting Supt Jim Templer and acting Det Insp Sharon Heselden before hitting the streets.
Many of the 13 arrests were made in connection with theft, criminal damage, shoplifting and assault which are some of the police force's top priorities.
Three people were arrested for failing to appear in court and two for failing to answer bail.
Acting Supt Templer said: "I would like to thank all staff involved in
last week’s operation, which resulted in the arrests of many people
suspected of either committing or being involved in crimes which have a
significant impact on our communities.”
This is the third ‘day of action’ to be carried out in Berkshire East and there are still some drug search warrants to be carried out.
Similar action days in neighbouring areas saw 22 arrests in Slough on Thursday, June 28 and 24 arrests in Bracknell on Thursday, July 26.
