Jets agree partnership deal with Chieftains

An exciting new agreement will see Slough Jets and Chelmsford Chieftains join forces.

The unique partnership with the English National League club, which has been rubber stamped by the English Ice Hockey Association, will see the Essex-based club act as a feeder to the Jets.

In addition to the Jets' new team in ENL South Division 2, the Chieftains, who compete in ENL South Division 1, will provide some of their upcoming young British talent on two way deals to the Jets.

Slough and Great Britain under 20s head coach Pete Russell was delighted to secure such an agreement.

"It's a great opportunity for both the Jets and the players involved," he said.

"I know in the Elite League it has worked well in the past and has opened the door to many players looking to make the step-up - the aim is to model it towards that.

"I believe it is good to see all the good talent out there at other levels and providing them with this platform to excel can not only benefit the players but also the Chieftains.

"We are working on building our own development programme in Slough and creating stars of the future within our structure and creating this link with Chelmsford can only strengthen those goals."
