Marlow Players take on Wilde classic

12:00am Mon 10th Mar 08:: written by Daniel Darlington

The wit of legendary playwright and novelist Oscar Wilde is being brought to stage by the Marlow Players next month.

The latest production by the amateur dramatic group is Wilde's classic comedy, Lord Arthur Savile's Crime, which will take place at the Shelley Theatre, Court Garden, Marlow.

The play is scheduled to be presented from April 3-5.

Director Jimmy Keene, read the play with 'pleasurable anticipation' and cannot wait for actors and actresses to start rehearsals.

"It is a comedy, getting close to a farce at times, with more than a glance of the Goon Show, and a nod towards Jeeves and Wooster," he said.
"That sounded like a winning combination for me."
