James Harper’s stoppage time goal secured Reading’s first away win of the season and ended their eight match-losing streak.

Elsewhere, the Magpies threw away a 2-0 half-time lead at play-off chasing Eastleigh, while Maidenhead Rugby Club crashed to a 60 point thumping at champions elect Bracknell.

The Magpies blew at 2-0 half-time lead to lose at play-off 3-2 at play-off chasing Eastleigh.

Jack Bradshaw and Jermaine Hinds scored their first goals for the club to put the Magpies 2-0 up at half-time. However, Anthony Riviere scored within three minutes of the restart and Paul Sales equalised 10 minutes later.

Sales broke Magpies hearts with five minutes to go scoring his second of the game.

James Harper’s stoppage time goal breathed new life into their survival bid as they arrested a run of eight successive defeats, with a marvellous victory at the Riverside, their first away victory of the season.

However, they remain in the relegation zone after Birmingham’s 4-0 victory over Tottenham. Reading are now level on points with Bolton, but have a worse goal difference.

Wycombe’s play-off hopes suffered a setback as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at mid-table Lincoln City. Louis Dodds scored the only goal he game after 66 minutes.

Windsor & Eton (0) 1 - 0 (0) Marlow

Marlow slipped to their third successive defeat losing 1-0 at Windsor & Eton. Williams scored the only goal of a poor game eight minutes before the break.

Fleet Town (0) 0 - 1 (1) Burnham

Chris Owen’s 55 yard free-kick earned Burnham a superb win at title chasing Fleet Town on Saturday.

Owen struck after 14 minutes to give Dave Mudge’s side a massive victory.

RUGBY
South West 1

Bracknell (17) 64 – 5 (0) Maidenhead RFC

Maids found themselves on the end of an embarrassing nine-try rout at title-chasing Bracknell.

Apart from an excellent 45th minute try from Simon Cripps, the visitors were always just off the pace against their more confident and bigger hosts. However, the score remained 0-0 up until the 33rd minute, but from then on the floodgates opened.

South West 2 East

Marlow (21) 26 – 14 (14) Windsor

Marlow continue their great escape with a huge victory over relegation rivals Windsor.

Marlow imposed themselves on the visitors in their first half, adding a lone second half try for a memorable victory that gives them every chance of achieving what looked like an impossible escape.

Despite a brave second half comeback at Altwood on Saturday Maids narrowly lost to league leaders High Wycombe.

Duncan Parnis scored a first half hat-trick of short-corner, he has now scored 62 goals this season. But after the break, Maids, without their injured captain Neel Sood, rallied. Phil Cowell and Alan Hodson pulled goals back but Maids couldn’t find an equaliser.
