Hall-Jones takes silver

Catherine Hall-Jones led the way for Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow Athletics Club at the under 20 and under 17 National Indoor Championships.
Hall Jones took the silver medal in the under 17 60 metre hurdles in 8.79 seconds. In the same event Faye Williams went out in the semi finals in 8.90 secs.

Leah Barrow looked good for a medal in the 300m in winning her heat of the 300m in 41.02 secs, and then improving to 40.88secs in the semi final.

She could not raise her game again in the final however, finishing just out of the medal placings in r with 41.02 secs. Sprinter Chloe Mays progressed no further than the heats in the 60m while in the under 20 age group Jenny Heckford also failed to make the cut in the 60m Hurdles.

Nigel Levine looked set for a medal in the under 20 200m, winning both his heat and semi final in style, but he was disqualified in the final for stepping out of his lane. In the same age group Dan James went out in the heats of the 60m in 7.33secs and Cameron Lake just missed a medal in the high jump with 2.03m.

Egryn Jones and Glenn Reddington set a new British record at the National Indoor Masters event.

Jones cleared 4.55m in the V35 pole vault to take gold, which clearly inspired Reddington to set a new V45 record of 8.80secs in the 60m hurdles. He also picked up bronze medals in the 60m sprint in 7.54 secs and the 200m in 24.59 secs.

Janet Smith won double gold, in the V40 Hammer with 31.17m and in the heavy weight with 27.89m. Pete Virgo won the V60 shot with 11.49m. There were bronze medals for Pete Kennedy in the V55 1500m, for Scott Dorset in the V35 200m and for Jo Wade in the V35 shot.
