New Slough Town manger Steve Bateman has made the first two signings of his tenure in time for today's match with Bishops Cleeve.

Midfielder Robbie Kean and midfielder/defender Shaun Byrne arrive as the Rebels boss looks to strengthen his squad.

Kean joins the club having played for Bateman at Hemel. The former Luton Town trainee has also played for St Albans City, Hitchin Town and Stevenage Borough.

Local lad Byrne comes to the club having also played for Bateman at Hemel. Byrne started as a trainee with West Ham and made three substitute appearances for the club.

He has an impressive CV having captained the Republic of Ireland under 16s to victory at the UEFA European Championships in Scotland in May 1998.

Byrne is a left-sided defender who can also operate on the right flank.
