Security guard robbed in daylight

4:37pm Thu 25th Dec 08:: written by Sonia Kapur

A black pistol was used to threaten a security guard delivering cash to an ATM in Wooburn Green on Tuesday morning.

The guard had parked his security van outside Tesco Express in The Green, when a man approached him and said: “Give us that box if you know what’s good for you.”
The guard then handed over an amount of cash at about 11.30am, in a blue money box.

After this, the robber got into a silver vehicle that was parked nearby. There was an accomplice waiting inside the vehicle, which then sped off.

The robber is described as white, between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 8ins, and in his mid-thirties. He has black hair, dark eyebrows, looked unshaven and was wearing a black woolly hat with a grey jacket.

Det Con Katie Worsfold, the officer investigating the robbery, said: “We recovered a silver vehicle in Holtspur Avenue shortly after the robbery and are investigating whether this is the car that was used in the robbery.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or who thinks they
saw two men abandoning a car in Holtspur Avenue at the time.”

Anyone with information should contact investigating officer Det Con Katie Worsfold on              08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
