Council parking wardens take the reins

12:00am Tue 15th Jan 08:: written by Claire Moulson

They have taken over from the police through the creation of a Special Parking Area (SPA).

The council hopes this will overcome the problem of drivers parking cars illegally on double yellow lines, which has been obstructing traffic around the town centre.

Watch our video report of the wardens on their first day of the job.
