Boy dies after asthma attack

9:32am Wed 27th Aug 08:: written by Kelly Rawlings

A boy from Marlow has died after suffering an asthma attack at Longridge Boating Centre near Marlow yesterday.

Joe cronin, 11, was having lunch with friends while on a holiday course with Wycombe District Council at the centre in Quarry Wood road when the asthma attack began.

The boy sought help from Longridge staff because his inhaler was not helping to calm his breathing and they tended to him while they waited for paramedics to arrive.

Joe was taken by air ambulance but later died at Wexham Park Hospital.

A statement from Amanda Foister, Longridge's  said: "The staff at Longridge, the organisers of the holiday and the medical staff who attended did all they could to help Joe.

"Longridge extends its sincerest sympathies to Joe’s family."
