Wanderers out of Carling Cup

Wycombe Wanderers crashed out of the Carling Cup at the first round last night (Wednesday) after Championship side Birmingham City thumped Peter Taylor's men 4-0 at Adams Park.

The Chairboys started solidly but fell behind to a Mehdi Nafti strike on 14 minutes, and after enjoying their best spell of pressure at the start of the second half, the home side were undone by goals from Seb Larsson, Cameron Jerome and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie.
