New police commander for the borough

A new police commander is set to take up his duties in the royal borough next week after transferring in from the Metropolitan Police.

Supt Tim De Mayer will be leaving the streets of London behind to assume the reigns of Local Police Area Commander for Windsor and Maidenhead from Acting Supt Jim Templer next week.

Acting Supt Templer, who has been the caretaker LPA Commander since September last year said: "We are really pleased he's coming."
He added: "He's very ambitious and keen."

Acting Supt Templer added: "I will revert back to Chief Inspector and will be Tim's deputy."

Reflecting on his time as acting LPA Commmander Acting Supt Templer said there had been some real success' with recorded crime falling by six per cent last year and seven per cent so far this year.
