A family have paid tribute to their 'beloved' 18-year-old son who died in hospital three days after the car he was driving smashed into a lamppost.
Robert January, a former Burnham Upper School pupil, was killed in Long Furlong Drive at the junction with Wentworth Avenue, after the crash on Friday.
A statement released by his parents said he was a known and loved by many people in the Burnham area who will miss him. He was a normal teenager who loved clubbing and going out with his mates, along with fishing and designer clothes.
Robert's relatives also spoke about their pride at the young man's pledge to become an organ donor. Their statement said: "At 16-years-of-age, Robert made a decision to be an organ donor and now four other people have benefited from his decision.
"As a family, we are proud that he chose this course of action and take great comfort that this was his choice to help others even though his loss has devastated us as a family."
Friday's incident is part of police inquiry as the red Subaru Robert was driving had been reported stolen on July 12. A 16-year-old passenger, who escaped with minor injuries, was arrested on suspicion of being carried in a stolen motor vehicle, and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

- Shame about the outcome, but was he or wasn't he driving a stolen car? Did he have insurance? A licence? He could have killed other people as well. Maybe the idiots who steal cars for joyriding will think twice now...but I doubt it.

- At the end of the day, two parents have lost a son and are grieving, no matter what the circumstances. My heart goes out to them and I cannot believe the comments of some callous people - you obviously don't have children and should keep your opinions to yourself. So what if he stole a car, he did not deserve to die. Rest in peace sweetheart x
