Two collisions on the M4 caused massive traffic chaos near Slough yesterday evening.

In one incident a motorcyclist was taken to Wexham Park Hospital after a collision with a car, which police are still trying to track down.

Firefighters were first on the scene and say the man was thrown off his bike and clambered to the side of the road where he collapsed in the grass ditch.

He is thought to have a broken jaw and chest injuries.

The crash took place at about 5.45pm between junctions six and seven of the M4.

Shortly after there was a six-car pile up eastbound between junctions five and six.

Police were called at about 6.10pm to an incident involving a silver Ford Mondeo, grey Volkswagen Passat, black BMW, a silver BMW, a green Toyota and a blue Toyotal Prius.
Two cars had already left by the time police arrived.

Ambulance services check over other drivers but reported no injuries.
There were tailbacks to junctions eight and nine as a result.

Anyone with information on the motorcyclist incident is urged to call police on 08458 505 505
