Andy Murray returned from injury to defeat Janko Tipsarevic in an exhibition match at Stoke Park Club as part of his pre-Wimbledon preparations.
The British number one, who pulled out of Queens at the quarter-final stage last week because of a thumb sprain, won the Boodles Challenge match 6-3, 5-7, 12-10 at the Stoke Poges venue in South Bucks.
Murray said: “There were a few times when I mishit the ball that I felt the thumb, but I was able to play for around an hour and a half and it felt OK.
“The lack of pressure on you, that is quite nice to play with no expectation on your shoulders.
"The support you get there is unbelievable playing on Centre Court in front of 14,000 people."
The 21-year-old Scot had to survive two match points against world number 40 Tipsarevic and even gave the crowd another scare when he slipped at the back of the court and lay motionless for a moment, but he was soon back on his feet and smiling.
