Haskell unable to stop All Black procession

9:47am Mon 16th Jun 08:: written by Steve Spencer

Former Maidenhead RFC youngster James Haskell could not prevent England falling to a 37-20 thrashing at the hands of the All Blacks.

The London Wasps flanker, winning his seventh cap at Eden Park, was instrumental in England's opening 20 minutes when they fronted up to New Zealand and took a 6-3 lead.

However, the Kiwis soon took control of the game and marched ahead, leaving England floundering despite two tries from London Irish winger Topsy Ojo.

Despite the result, Haskell looks likely to resume his role at number 6 alongside clubmate Tom Rees in the second test on Saturday.
