POLICE CHIEF: I'll make life misery for drug dealers

10:34am Wed 4th Jun 08:: written by Daniel Darlington

A drugs action week has been hailed a success by police chiefs in Maidenhead and Windsor.

The national anti-drugs week, from May 19-25, was aimed at choking the supply of drugs in the area and removing them from the streets.

Acting Superintendent for Windsor and Maidenhead Jim Templer said that four drugs warrants were carried out during the week with two alleged dealers arrested and released on bail.

A significant amount of suspected class A drugs was also seized by neighbourhood teams during the operation. "I want to see dealers locked up and I will go out of my way to make life a misery for those who continue to peddle drugs," said Supt Templer.
"These people cause so much grief for people in Windsor and Maidenhead."

Thames Valley Police are also working with the Royal Borough to identify hot spot area where drug use is rife.

The public are warned not to pick up any needles they find but report it to the police or Royal Borough drug and alcohol team on 01628 79 63 62.
