Progress with Burnham Community Hall

The building of a new community hall in Burnham has taken a step forward after the architects for the million pound project were chosen.
Earlier in the year three candidates were presented to the public, who gave their feedback on the varying proposals, but it was local firm TPA Design Company who secured the contract at a meeting on Monday last week (December 10).
Councillors from Burnham Parish Council agreed unanimously to hand the project to the Maidenhead-based firm.
"It was felt that the company had the better spatial awareness of the needs of a public hall," said Janet Holmes, clerk at Burnham Parish Council.
Pawel Czarnomski, an architect at TPA said: their interpretation of the new hall, which would house the parish council and various leisure and community events, was designed to appease the traditional setting of Burnham.
"I think they liked the traditional feel that we had put across," he said.
"We were using a lot more natural materials rather than modern ones and our model fits in a lot better with the park's surroundings."
