Face of a menace - teen's store ban
1:45pm Thu 15th May 08:: written by Luke Cross
Police have released a picture of tearaway teenager Steven Strong who has been slapped with an Antisocial Behaviour Order (ASBO) after a court decided the public needed protecting from him.
The order bans the 17-year-old from entering a town centre superstore after a catalogue of problems which culminated in his conviction for assaulting a store manager.
Strong (pictured), formerly of Maidenhead, who now lives in Vansittart Road, Windsor, faces criminal proceedings if he sets foot inside Sainsbury's in Maidenhead at any stage during the next four years.
He is also not allowed to enter other stores where he has been barred in the past.
Word spread quickly among traders, with details of the Maidenhead Magistrates' Court hearing held on Thursday last week, circulated on email by the Royal Borough.
Amy Cannon, the council's antisocial behaviour coordinator said: "Strong is an intimidating character and can be very threatening.
"We hope the ASBO will not only keep him out of the store, but also away from Maidenhead."
If you witness any antisocial behavioru you can contact police on 08458 505505 or the borough's antisocial behaiovur team on 01628 796203.

- They should bring back the birch or the stocks for little hooligans like this. They laugh at ASBO's. In fact I understand that hhey are actually considered a medal of honour amongst louts like this. A public flogging or a day in the stocks with a plentiful supply of rotten fruit and veg nearby would make hime think twice before he harrassed any decent citizens again.
- "Strong is an intimidating character and can be very threatening. HAHA you do no how to exaggerate fings.. You dont evn no him n ppl judgin him alredi.. Hes only 17 n yor printin his picture on the front of the news paper n puttin where he lives.. hes still a kid i wonder how you treat yor kids!!!!!!
- see how you can name n shame a 17 r old boi and put a picture up of him over front page...but i dnt see you doin that to ppl hu commited real crime i.e sex offenders!! and as for Aresident 'supple him wiv rotten fruit and veg' 1. u most probably dnt no the boi so unless u do i suggest u keep ur opinion to urself n its 2008 not 1958.. supplyin rotten fruit n veg wod av stop yrs ago so get wiv the tym love!!
- I don't know the boy thank goodness, but have sufficient faith in our criminal justice system to know police and magistrates use an ASBO as a last resort and would not do so unless the thug deserved it. You are correct, it is not 1958 more's the pity. In those days children used to behave with respect and ASBO's weren't necessary. Also children could spell correctly, something you clearly cannot do. Finally, you could afford the fruit and veg to throw which you cannot do nowadays!
- and how does this really help the misunderstood lad sure putting a photo is just adding to hes asbo merit. im sure we really need to name and shame sex offenders. has anyone wondered what hes needs are so he doesn't re offend. because its my experience when i was given help i stopped offending
- well you clearly understood what i was saying!! and as i said you dont know him so you aint intitle to an opinion as far as i am concerned!! you must be a sad lonely person to be coming on this page and writting comments about a 17 year old boy you dont even know! go get a life and take your comments else were! you able to read the spelling clearly now?
