Woman who stabbed boyfriend avoids jail

12:14pm Fri 25th Apr 08:: written by Gareth McPherson

A knife-wielding woman who was one part of a 'nightmare couple' has been told she will not go to prison for stabbing her boyfriend.

Danielle Burden, 26, lived in Coulson Way in Burnham when she lunged at partner Sean Keenan with a knife during an argument in October 2006. It cut him across the chest, arm and ribs. A police officer who attended the scene described it as 'pure luck' that he was not killed.

The couple, described at Aylesbury Crown Court as being in a 'volatile relationship' for five years, were paid several visits by police after noisy rows.
The court heard that Burden was put into care at the age of 13 and has a history of mental difficulties and drug abuse.

On the charge of inflicting GBH, Judge Christopher Tyrer sentenced her to a two-year community order with supervision, Judge Christopher Tyrer.

He said: "The picture that emerges is that you were in drink and you were involved in a volatile and unhappy relationship which you both should have ended a long time before the events of October 2006."
