Badnell's Pit campaigners fight on

3:27pm Wed 16th Apr 08:: written by Laura Enfield

Determined campaigners are gearing up for another battle over the controversial Badnells Pit site - but are worried their concerns may not be fully heard.

Opponents spent all weekend preparing their plan of attack after a report was released on Friday detailing the Michael Shanly Group's plans to build 448 homes on the site.

The Riverside Action Group will be out in force at a meeting on Monday to make their stand against the plans which would completely transform their neighbourhood. After five years of fighting they are as vehemently opposed to the massive development in Blackamoor Lane as ever.

A spokesman for the Royal Borough saidĀ the council was keen to make a effective use of the time and ensure that there is adequate time for both sides to put their points to the panel.

The Michael Shanly Group believesĀ its application is well thought out and it has kept residents informed at every step of the planning process.
