Estelle - Shine

Forget Leona Lewis and her Disney-esque brand of pop, Estelle is the hottest British singer on either side of the Atlantic right now.
And what a transformation for the 28-year-old from west London.
Her change of fortune has seen her from go rapping in nondescript clubs in Brixton to collaborating with Kanye West and being produced by the whose who of music production. Think ugly duckling to beautiful swan.
Prior to her recent number one single, American Boy, Estelle was best known for her irritating track 1980, but thankfully times have changed.
Her second album, Shine, has depth and diversity and is a mile away from her UK hip-hop days. In fact, the new Estelle now sounds more like an American R'n'B singer on most of her tracks.
With a stellar support team behind her, Estelle could well become one of the acts of 2008.
For one thing, she is more versatile and more talented than the much lauded Adele and she's already been branded the next big thing (no pun intended!)
