Easter 10 runner dies

10:03am Mon 31st Mar 08:: written by Kelly Rawlings

The runner who collapsed at the Easter 10 race on Good Friday has died in hospital.

Phil Tottle had been a member of the Vale of Aylesbury Athletic Club for 10 years and had competed in road and cross country races.

He collapsed shortly before the finish line of the annual run organised by Maidenhead Athletic Club.
A fellow runner ran to his aid and he was rushed to hospital by ambulance crews.

A tribute on his club's website says the father-of-three never regained consciousness and died peacefully after the life support equipment was turned off.
