Runners tackle 10k for Cancer charity

12:00am Mon 29th Oct 07:: written by Nick Meakin

A total of 2,000 people, mostly wearing the distinctive light blue shirts of Cancer Research UK, ran the 10km course twice round Dorney Lake to raise an estimated £175,000 for the charity.

Event organiser, Scott Renken, said: "The event went really well. It wasn't the nicest day but the weather didn't dampen the spirits of everyone there. The atmosphere was excellent throughout the day. Congratulations to everyone that took part and I'd like to say to all the runners please send in your sponsorship money as soon as you can."
