Before you decide, you need to listen to this record. It starts off with the same
pleading notes that we’ve heard so many times but then Faulkner opens his mouth and it makes you sit up and take notice.

His jolting voice initially surprises you and then over 17 tracks his album confuses
you. There’s a frustrating inconsistency about this record, as if he’s still searching for his true style.

He’s brilliant and he’s a bore, yet this album grows on you and one day may become greater with age.
