Sainsbury's stream tidy up

12:00am Wed 9th May 07:: written by Kelly Rawlings

Contractors of the supermarket giant will begin improvements to a section of the stream on Monday, which runs alongside Hines Meadow car park.
The plans form part of Sainsbury’s redevelopment scheme for Maidenhead town centre.
It will take about six weeks to complete the work.
The stream will be dug deeper and reinforced and trees and shrubs will also be planted on either side of the channel to make it more attractive.
A Sainsbury's spokesman said: “Once complete, the improvements will help to alleviate the localised
flooding of the Green Way beneath the A4 St Cloud Way.”

See this week's Advertiser for an artist's impression of how the stream will look when the work is completed.
