Singer Scarlett ready for chart success
12:00am Wed 1st Aug 07
Scarlett, whose real name is Emma Williams, fought off competition from hundreds of other seasoned performers in October to win a contract with brand new label Beach Records.
Together they have recorded a modern version of Corona's pumping tune which topped the charts in Europe in 1993.
Owner of the label, Patrick Beach, said: "She beat lots of people who had been in Pop Idol and the West End and the song's doing really well."
York Road resident Miss Williams, said: "It wasn't hard work for me, I just had to sing."
The 24-year-old has being acting,
modelling and singing since she was a teenager and has studied with X-Factor
teacher David Laudat.
She is hoping this will be her big break and said: "It's
really great. I have been trying for 12 years and have just kept going. I only
want to do one thing and that's performing and this is just another stepping
stone forward."
The single is currently climbing the
dance charts and is due for official release next
month.
