Travellers moved from beauty spot

He said: “While I recognise that travellers do not have adequate provision their arrival was personally saddening. “Part of the Thicket had become a no-go area for me and my partner, children and dogs, not based on this visit but on the previous experience of travellers. “I"m pleased that we"re now free to enjoy one of the best open spaces locally at one of the best times of year.” National Trust warden Curly Carver inspected the site yesterday (Wednesday) morning. He said: “There have been travellers here in previous years. This time there was a normal amount of mess, quite a lot for the time that they had spent there.” At the time of going to press the caravans had parked on land owned by the Envir-onment Agency off Lower Cookham Road.
