Fyfield searching for full-time football

It is unknown yet whether or not Jamal Fyfield will be pulling on the black and white stripes of Maidenhead United next season.

The energetic full-back is chasing full-time football at a higher level after three years of Conference South action with the Magpies.

Holding up his departure from York Road is the small issue of a transfer fee.

Due to the former Leyton Orient trainee being just 21, United are demanding a compensation fee from whoever signs Fyfield.

“The only one who hasn’t committed for next season is Jamal Fyfield,” said manager Johnson Hippolyte.
“He is desperate to play at a higher level and go full-time.

“The thing is the credit crunch has bitten everyone hard and we’d want a fee for Jamal, which a lot of clubs can’t afford.”

If his dream move to a Football League club fails to materialise, Hippolyte confirmed the 2009 Young Player of the Year would remain at York Road for the new season.

“Jamal’s got no problems with myself or anyone at the club,” explained Hippolyte.

“Jamal just wants to improve his game and we’ve had scouts down to watch him a few times.”
