Firefighters were called to a caravan park after a barbecue set fire to a mobile home.

One fire engine from Maidenhead attended at 6.45pm on Saturday, but by the time they arrived at Hurley Riverside Park in Westacott Way, the occupants of the caravan had contained the blaze using fire
extinguishers.

With the summer holiday season appraoching, Blue watch manager Miles Cooper is keen to remind people to consider fire safety when they are away. He said those opting for caravan holidays should remember to check for a smoke alarm, fire extinguisher and to consider a fire evacuation route.
