The creme of British show jumpers descended on to Windsor last week when a premier outdoor equestrian event took place.

More than 3,000 horses and ponies took part in the five-day Royal Windsor Horse Show from May 12-16, which was attended by the Queen over the weekend.

Among the jumpers were acclaimed riders Michael, John and William Whitaker, while eventer Pippa Funnell brought some young horses to the show.

Also at the Windsor Castle event was the Land Rover International Driving Grand Prix, which saw competitors in horse and pony four-in-hands and horse pairs.

Attended by hordes of people over the five days, this year also saw 32 new classes from sports horses to veterans, to miniature horses and side-saddle.

A total of 150 classes took place across the horsing feast that also featured more than 200 shops on site, and a food and drink festival.

The military zone with an army assault course, paint-balling range and a climbing tower further entertained visitors.
