Counting the clear-up cost as travellers are moved on

9:58am Tue 4th May 10:: written by Nick Mayo

Travellers have been moved on from Upton Court Park as costs to clean up their mess spiralled into thousands.

Slough Borough Council estimates the bill to clean up the mess on the site by up to 60 caravans, including broken window frames and garden waste, will top £20,000.

A possession order was served by the courts to have them moved on and on Thursday the bailiffs went in. The council confirmed  that the travellers went peacefully at about 2.10pm.

A full appraisal of the access points to all parks is being carried out by the council to reduce the chances of future entry.

The full story was in Friday's express.
