Scott upbeat despite first defeat

7:00am Thu 18th Mar 10:: written by Charles Watts

Windsor and Eton boss Keith Scott admits his side were far from their best as they surrendered their 32 game unbeaten run on Saturday.

The Royalists fell to a 2-1 loss at Bridgwater, their first league defeat of the season.

Goals either side of half-time from Jamie Price gave Bridgwater a 2-0 lead and despite Michael Chennells pulling a goal back with over half an hour remaining Windsor couldn’t force an equaliser.

Scott said: “We’ve defended fantastically all season but we went to sleep twice and they scored.

“Once from a corner and once from inside the box.

“We got the goal back within two minutes of their second but couldn’t get another.

“Their keeper made a great save from Matt Seedel at 2-1, had that gone in things probably would have been very different.”

He added: “The players were very disappointed afterwards.

“If you’d seen them in the dressing room afterwards you would have thought they just been relegated.

“For me that is a good thing but I could see how hurt they were.

“The important thing now is to put it behind us and concentrate on what we’ve got ahead of us.”
