Windsor's empty shop numbers go down

The number of empty shopping units in Windsor and Eton has dropped from last month and stands at 25, a report has revealed.
According to the town's centre manager Paul Roach, the figure now stands at 6.7 per cent, which is below the national average of about 12 per cent.
Mr Roach said coffee shops and restaurants are booming in the area, but fashion outlets have been feeling the strain of the continued recession.
He said: "It has been a mixed bag from the retail side. Some have been doing really well, but others have not been faring as well. While there are a lot more people in the town, that did not equate."
He added that the Royal Shopping Centre is set to welcome new stores over the coming weeks, including women's clothing store Mint Velvet, hair salon Stars and an as yet unnamed chocolatier shop.
