Three men have been arrested in Slough today after they were discovered working illegally in Slough.
The Indian immigrants, aged between 28 and 43, were caught in a raid at Chef In A Box on the Poyle Industrial Estate in Colbrook, carried out by UK Border Agency officials acting upon intelligence.
Around 15 staff were questioned at the site. The men found to be working illegally now face being kicked out of the country. Two were failed asylum seekers, who are suspected of using fake ID documents to have gained employment, and the third was found to be working in breach of his visa.
Inspector Dick Stratton of the UK Border Agency said: “We’re committed to removing people who have no right to be or work in the UK, and we’re working closely with other agencies and local authorities to do that.
“Illegal working has a serious impact on communities, taking jobs from those who are genuinely allowed to work.”
The operation was part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal working in the South East.
Anyone who suspects that illegal workers are being employed at a business can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be assured.
