Next two games are make or break for Slough

7:00am Fri 3rd Jul 09:: written by Steve Spencer

The next two games could either push Slough CC away from relegation or put them further in the mire.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Slough go to Welwyn Garden City, who sit one place above them in Division 1.

Then next week they travel to Tring Park, who are just above Welwyn.
After another weekend passed with yet another draw - Slough’s sixth of the season - against Oxford, two victories would propel them out of trouble.

“The next two games are very important,” stated skipper Bobby Sher. “But we’ll take it one game at a time.

“Welwyn are 16 points above us, so it’s pretty important to get that first win of the season there. Then Tring are above them.”

Sher, who hit a season’s best 137 against Oxford, added: “At the end of the day, we’ve gone half the season and not won. It’s worse than last year.

“We can’t keep drawing and expect to stay up.”

Michael Payne is back for Slough, but Ali Ahmed is unavailable.
