1:21pm Wed 29th Apr 09:: written by Gareth McPherson

Gravel magnate Peter Prior has jumped nearly 200 places in the Sunday Times Rich List on last year -  despite an estimated £9m loss in wealth.

Prior and family, who run Maidenhead-based Summerleaze, rank joint 843rd in the famous list which was released on Sunday.

As well as mineral extraction the firm is involved in waste management and renewable energy.

White Waltham diamond and mining tycoon Nicky Oppenheimer ranks joint 18th but saw his 2008 £2.8bn fortune cut nearly in half following 'the global stagnation in diamond sales', according to the list.
