Good news for book worms
2:20pm Wed 5th Nov 08:: written by Nick MayoAn eye-catching new addition to the council's library fleet is due to set off on its maiden voyage around the borough next week.
A brightly decorated 7.5tonne state-of-the-art mobile library will travel throughout the borough from Wednesday, bringing books to residents who find it difficult to get out and about.
It can house up to 3,000 new books, large print and audio books.
At first, the vehicle, which replaces a rented unit, will visit residential homes and supply books to volunteers working with housebound people.
It will eventually join the borough’s other mobile library on the general public route.
