Rare screening of documentary at Firestation Arts

The Firestation's Music as Film season continues on Friday with a rare screening of the seminal documentary DiG!
The film is an insightful, bizarre and harrowing account of the parallel careers of the US Indie groups the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Dandy Warhols - focussing on the bitter rivalry, mutual respect and grudging friendship of their charismatic front men Anton Newcombe and Courtney Taylor.
The film lifts the lid on their bizarre lives, complete with arrests, death threats and eventual success in the profit driven music business.
Sam Hunt from the Firestation Centre for Arts and Culture in St Leonard's Road, said: "The themes in this film are universal, betrayal, rivalry, success, failure. You certainly don't need to have heard of either the Dandy Warhols or Brian Jonestown Massacre to find this an engrossing and fascinating piece of documentary filmmaking.
"This is a great film and a wonderful addition to our Music as Film season."
DiG! is screening at 8pm. Tickets £7.25/£5.75.
